Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (SIST), formerly Sathyabama University, is a Christian higher education institution considered a university institution, located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded by Zapiyar as Sathyabama Engineering College in 1987 and received the status of university in 2001.
Satyabama University is located at Rajiv Gandhi Salai, OMR Road, Chennai. The nearest airport to Satyabama University is Kamaraj International Airport, which is 21 km from the institute. Students can hire taxis from there and reach the campus in about 40 minutes.
The CMBT bus terminal is closest to the institute’s campus and students can board the bus from there to reach the institute which will take about 60 minutes. Other bus routes are also available from Adyar and T.Nagar. Students coming from Old Mahabalipuram Road and East Coast Road can take a shared car to visit the campus.

The library has a large collection of books which provide all the necessary information to the students. Library hours are from 8:00 am. 10 pm, which is accessible to all students. A presentation room and reading room are also available in the library. The library also has other facilities including Wi-Fi, e-learning facility, magazines, research, printed publications, previous editions, autobiographies, etc.
Satyabama University has 5 boys and 5 girls hostels which are well equipped with facilities like laundry, gym, computer center, reading space and dining room. To make hostel life enjoyable and comfortable, films are also shown for hostel students on holidays.
Gyms available for boys and girls near the hostel which help students maintain a healthy life. Yoga sessions are also organized for the students.
Up to 24×7 medical facilities are available to hoteliers. Medical officers are present to provide medical assistance to students and staff in any emergency. Students requiring initial treatment received health insurance from the Satyabama General Hospital.
Students have facilities to play indoor and outdoor games like hockey, soccer, cricket, tennis, badminton, handball, table tennis, ball badminton, kho kho, kabaddi, throw ball, chess, carom. cricket, squash and basketball.

Student Psychological Counseling and Support Center:
This center was established to provide counseling to students and staff who are facing a crisis regarding their personal or professional lives. The center has members of trained counselors who provide the necessary guidance to the students and help them to overcome their stress. All counseling sessions conducted are kept confidential.
